Loose T. - No Label, out now
It’s that moment you’ve all been waiting for, the time has finally come, the planets have aligned and the release of No Label by Loose T. is here!
Bubble gum pop meets riot grrrl in Loose T.’s latest candy coated single, inspired by the likes of High School Musical’s Stick to the Status Quo and Bikini Kill’s Rebel Girl. In No Label, Loose T. asks, why do we all need to be put in little boxes and can we live in a world where this continues to happen? The lyrics are frank and possibly even naïve, but if it’s all so obvious why does it continue to happen? For the teenager in all of us, this track is an absolute banger!
So, you might be asking yourself, why is a “folk” record label releasing this track? What does this have to do with folk? This is a question we’ve been asked before. From a musical point of view No Label has no connection to folk music, but for us folk music is about a lot more than just traditional musical styles, it is the original punk, it’s the fingers up to the chemical factory manager only interested in profits, the standing against gentrification and eradication of others’ cultures, the calling out of labellers telling you what or who you can and can’t be. This is the kind of “folk” music we want to release.
